Minecraft Eco House

Hello Reader(s)

On Wednesday November the 1st Mr Riceman got us to do a very fun activity. The activity was…   making an Eco-house on Minecraft or on paper.

First we learnt about what ” Eco” means and also what helps keep the planet alive. Then Mr Riceman explained what an Eco-house is. It is a house that is Eco-friendly meaning that it cares for the environment / world / planet.

After that Mr Riceman let us create our own Eco-House on Minecraft or on paper. It had to be Eco-friendly so that it was good for the environment.

It was very fun to do on Minecraft or on paper. I wish I will do it again.

It’s the end Reader(s) Bye!

Ten Second Ping Pong Ball Timer

Hello Readers

On Thursday 2nd of November we took part in a STEM challenge. We worked in groups of 3 and shared ideas to create a marble run for a ping pong ball to last 10 seconds. In my group I had Gina, Theo & bunny to work with. Our group is called ” Bunny Team”

Every group had the exact same material including foam, 2 pieces of firm paper, 4 meters of tape, One of my ping pong balls, kebab sticks, ice block sticks & 4 sheets of newspaper.

Here are some photos of our creation:

If I ever do it again I will make it stronger and more firm.

It’s the end Readers, hope you read more!

Amazing Athletics Day

Monday 7th of November was athletics day at school. We had so much fun. We had events such as high jump, long jump, shot put and sprints. It was tiring but still fun.

My favourite event was the 400 meter run because I LOVE running.

Something I would like to improve is the long jump because I wasn’t good at it.

Koru Art

Last week was Maori Language Week. We made some koru art. We had to use warm and cool colours

The thing I like about the cool colours is that at the bottom I coloured it blue.

The thing I like about the warm colours is that the orange and yellow are both diamond shapes

Next time I would change the patterns slightly & add more detail.

Lego Tower Challenge

For Inquiry we were looking at earthquakes. Our teachers decided that we should group up and make a Lego tower design. We were trying to design a tower that can survive an earthquake simulation. For the first tower, we made it really tall. When it came to the earthquake where our teacher placed our Lego tower on a board … disaster! We failed! On the second tower, we made it thicker and wider so it didn’t fall. When it was the earthquake time  the tower did not fall.

Making Paper Volcanos

Last week we had a visit from  some people from Corban Estate Art Centre. They came to teach us how to create 3 dimensional  paper volcano art. They also told us the story about Ruamoko.

Here is my art.

I like the roller coaster I put on my art.

Next time I would be more creative and add more stuff like more boats.
